Position Highlights

 

Our driver licensing training team is currently seeking an Instructor. This role will focus on designing and delivering learning solutions to various driver licensing departments including the DL Contact Centre to meet corporate and customer needs. We are seeking an individual who exhibits professionalism & integrity, and who has demonstrated strong communication skills in a training or learning environment. This position will be based out of 910 Government Street in Victoria.

 

Typical Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Organizing and scheduling training sessions;
  • Providing training and direction to others;
  • Providing guidance to trainees while in a training program, including assessing progress;
  • Participating in the development of training materials and quality assurance measures;
  • Reviewing and evaluating operating policies and procedures, recommending changes to improve efficiency, and coordinating the implementation of new procedures;
  • Providing information, advice and interpretation of relevant policies, regulations and guidelines for other staff; and
  • Participating in the development and delivery of the Quality Assurance and Consistency Program.

 

Position Requirements

 

To meet the challenges of this role, the following skills and experience are required:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of back-end, administrative, and clerical duties related to the various DL support services departments;
  • Previous DL contact centre training and experience is considered an asset;
  • Extensive knowledge of DL policies and procedures;
  • Active listening/patience and communication skills in order to navigate challenging interpersonal situations;
  • Previous experience in an instructor or learning/education role is preferred;
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.

 

The above requirements would typically be met through post-secondary education related to adult education, experience advising on and delivering training programs in the driver licensing field, and/or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Work arrangement defined:

 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
