Position Highlights

 

The Driver Training Industry Support is looking for an addition to our administrative team. This role requires a highly detail-oriented individual with exceptional customer service skills and the ability to frequently shift between tasks throughout the day.  Previous call centre experience is an asset, as candidates will be required to assist customers via our telephone queue and other inquiry channels (e.g. emails and postal mail inquiries). This position is a full-time permanent position at our Victoria location, 910 Government Street. The successful candidate is required to work in the office for the first 3 months for training purposes.

 

Typical Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the Driver Training Industry and the general public managing high volume of phone calls through the DTIS contact center
  • Provide information and guidance to a variety of individuals regarding industry procedures, application requirements, and status of licences
  • Maintain internal Driver Training Industry Licensing system with current data for instructors and schools
  • Review and process applications for driver training instructors driving schools, and various certification programs
  • Review Police Information Checks and Driver Training Medical Evaluations to current regulatory standards
  • Drafting licenses, letters and other correspondence for the driver training industry
  • Process incoming mail, including maintaining receipts/payments records

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Previous Driver Licensing (DL) contact centre or customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex policies and procedures to industry members and applicants in plain, understandable language
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while performing routine tasks
  • Strong organizational skills, with the flexibility to manage and shift between multiple tasks throughout the day
  • Team player who is customer focused, works effectively independently and in a group setting
  • Proven ability to prioritize a diverse workload in a busy, fast‑paced environment

This position reports to the Manager of Driver Training Industry Support.

Work arrangement defined:

 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
