Position Highlights
The Driver Licensing Business Support team is seeking a Business Support Advisor to join their team in Victoria. The successful candidate will focus on supporting and analyzing information, processes and procedures for Driver Licensing Services. This role is responsible for conducting business impact analyses within various business initiatives that impact our services. This position will provide support by leveraging analytics to make data driven business decisions. You will enhance existing reporting tools and develop new ones, track KPIs and provide valuable insights to our leadership team.
The incumbent will have demonstrated strength as a great critical thinker, an effective communicator and strong analyst with a collaborative and solution focused approach. You have demonstrated strong organizational skills through management of multiple activities and projects simultaneously. As an Advisor, you will interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. Your role will be to gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements and mitigate any possible risk.
You will draw on business expertise from across the organization to complete comprehensive and thorough assessment of any impact from various projects.
Specific Accountability:
- Supporting the delivery of business initiatives for the Driver Licensing division by identifying, articulating, and facilitating changes required to address business problems and opportunities.
- Interacting with business and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs.
- Gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements, including problem definition, gap analysis, impact assessment and risk mitigation options.
- Drawing on business expertise from across the organization to enable comprehensive and thorough assessment of business problems and opportunities and supporting the team of Driver Licensing Program Advisors by providing analysis, advice and recommendations as required.
Position Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst (or similar role) at ICBC or another large, complex organization
- General knowledge of the insurance industry, drivers licensing products and legislative practices
- Technical and/or business degree, or equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of undergraduate degree
- Thorough understanding of analytical methods and concepts
- Ability to comprehend and organize complex data
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to be adaptable in order to respond effectively and efficiently to opportunities as they arise
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with personnel at all levels
- A self-starter who is able to prioritize amongst multiple projects at once and work with limited guidance
- Business Analysis Certification is an asset
This position reports to the Manager of DL Business Support.

Work arrangement defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
