Position Highlights:

 

Driver Licensing Operations is seeking an independent, professional individual for a current Supervisor Driver Examination Unit opportunity in our Vernon and Penticton Driver Licensing Services.The successful candidate will play a key role in providing leadership to a group of Driver Examiners. This will include assigning, monitoring and assessing work. 

 

As the Supervisor Driver Examination Unit you will also:

 

  • Conduct road tests for all Provincial Licence Classes to determine the knowledge and ability of drivers to safely operate commercial motor vehicles and motorcycles;
  • Plan and schedule work for the Driver Examination unit;
  • Thoroughly explain examination policies and procedures to customers and team members; 
  • Navigate a variety of challenging customer interactions, including escalations; and
  • Work within a structured and team-focused environment;
  • Work from the Vernon or Penticton Driver Licensing Services and supervise a unit of Driver Examiners in addition to Princeton, Osoyoos, Oliver and Revelstoke;
  • Coach, motivate and evaluate performance of staff that work out of Princeton, Osoyoos, Oliver and Revelstoke.

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Driver Examiner experience required
  • Recent leadership experience (remote leadership experience preferred)
  • Recent scheduling experience 
  • Exceptional knowledge of the rules of the road and of the MELT Program
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication as well as active listening
  • Experience working with government agencies and business partners is considered an asset.
  • Pass a health assessment based on the job requirements 
  • Pass a criminal record check by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General with as required under the Criminal Records Review Act.
  • Possess a valid class 5 BC driver's license; have a clean driving record and meet eligibility requirements to qualify for a Class 1 and Class 6 Learner's license

 

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Resident – you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled work days.
