About the position:

 

As the Manager, Customer Services Auto Team you will focus on mitigating claims risk by providing consistent, quality customer services while managing claims costs.  In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage a team of Claims Adjusters in the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims. 

 

You will be responsible for managing performance, developing talent and ensuring the team takes accountability for the effective and efficient delivery of ICBC products and services through:

  • Coaching your team of adjusters in file resolution with customers
  • Participating in resolving customer concerns, claims disputes, liability and coverage issues, and legal defenses
  • Providing information to enable response to external enquiries from service providers and business partners
  • Communicating divisional and corporate goals and inspiring your team to achieve them
  • Providing leadership and maintaining standards of performance by monitoring productivity, quality of file handling and severity control
  • Implementing and monitoring unit business plans and participate in the development of the unit budget
  • Contributing to projects, committees and task forces
  • Recruiting, hiring and training new staff members

 

Position Requirements

 

Ideally, your qualifications will include:

  • Several years of insurance industry experience as a Claims Manager or adjuster
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor and develop front line staff
  • Knowledge of the relevant acts, regulations, policies and procedures relating to claims estimating, adjusting, and claims administration
  • Demonstrated expertise in investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling claims
  • An undergraduate university degree is preferred. An insurance designation or actively working on completing a designation will be an asset. We will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Due to the nature of this role, candidates must meet the provincially legislated requirements of the Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA).

Work arrangements defined: 

 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
