The Operational Resilience team at ICBC is responsible for various tools and platforms that the Information Systems Division depends on to serve the organization.
We have an opportunity for a Technical Specialist with platform administration and technical support capabilities to join us and help support administration, utilization and maintenance of Enterprise Monitoring tools at ICBC, such Application Performance Management, Digital Experience Monitoring and Log Monitoring.
As a Technical Specialist for Operational Resilience, you will have a role in developing and sustaining our monitoring platform in support of maintaining and enhancing system stability. This includes:
- Systems administration and technical support.
- Level 3 (senior) problem analysis and root cause analysis.
- Performance tuning, capacity planning and analysis.
- Technical implementation planning and delivery.
- Scripting and automating maintenance tasks.
- Consulting with application development teams.
- Support responsibility for a platform or application.
You will work closely with other IT professionals and build experience supporting these evolving technologies.
Position requirements:
To be considered a candidate for the Technical Specialist position, you will need knowledge and experience in:
- Infrastructure, application hosting, integration hosting, and/or systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Scripting skills and automation techniques.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, digital experience monitoring and log monitoring technologies and concepts.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships.
- Communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The following technologies and concepts are used by the Enterprise Monitoring team. Experience with any of these is an asset:
- Windows Server, UNIX or Linux systems administration.
- Monitoring technologies (SCOM, Aternity, Dynatrace, Splunk).
- Automation technologies (Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins).
- Directory services (LDAP, AD).
- ITIL methodologies and best practices with incident, problem and change management, and service management (ITIL Certification will be an asset).
- Your technical expertise combined with demonstrated skills to influence and negotiate productive outcomes has prepared you to make a strong contribution in this role.

Work arrangements defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
