The Middleware Platforms team has a need for a Technical Specialist to support and manage the Integration Platforms that we host. Our Integration platforms run on IBM AppConnect, MQ, DataPower, and API Connect and Payment Gateway.
As Technical Specialist for Middleware Platforms, you will have a role in sustaining and enhancing our platforms in support of business change. This includes:
- Systems administration and technical support.
- Level 3 (senior) problem analysis and root cause analysis.
- Performance tuning, capacity planning and analysis.
- Technical implementation planning and delivery.
- Scripting and automating maintenance tasks.
- Support responsibility for a platform or application including maintenance and upgrades.
- Consulting with application development, IT, and business areas.
- Mentoring and training staff on supporting the platform.
- Managing small to medium sized projects and coordinating the work with staff inside and outside our department.
You will work closely with other IT professionals and build experience supporting these evolving technologies.
Position requirements:
The following technical support experience is required:
- Experience with the platform side of installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting IBM AppConnect, MQ, DataPower, and API Connect products in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with container management.
- Scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with critical web and application infrastructure.
- Experience with Linux systems administration.
- Monitoring technologies (Dynatrace, Splunk, Nagios)
- Automation technologies (Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab)
- Directory services (LDAP, AD)
- Information security
- Cloud experience
- Communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Coordinating work and mentoring junior technical resources
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships

Work arrangements defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
