Position Highlights

 

Our Business Reporting and Analysis team has an exciting opportunity for a Statistical Analyst II to join our team to support the Insurance division’s growing demands of data and reporting.

 

The successful candidate will work with the Business and IT teams to ensure data requirements and business rules are understood, and deliverables are completed. You are data driven, critical thinker that will perform analysis in support of business initiative development, including drafting test cases, identifying gaps/growth opportunities, and producing reporting tools and solutions to track business performance metrics.

 

In this role, you will provide advisory services to operational leaders in the business divisions to support data-driven decision-making, identifying and translating their needs for data-driven insights into meaningful analysis and ad hoc reports.

 

Position Requirements

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with a proven track record of synthesizing large amounts of data to identify areas of opportunities and/or risks
  • Experienced working in a large, complex business environment with various stakeholders, with the ability to communicate analysis in a clear, concise manner and within business context
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge in order to prioritize requests, develop work plans, and execute plans for projects of various scales
  • Knowledge of different enterprise applications and testing methodologies with the ability to diagnose and resolve functional and technical issues
  • Ability to transform data into information, insights and thus outcomes; must demonstrate experience writing summary reports and/or presentations that translate the results of analysis for use by management and stakeholders
  • Experienced with data extraction, visualization, analytical, and reporting tools used at ICBC (Zeppelin, SQL, Tableau or equivalent). Ability to use SQL is required. Demonstrated report development in  the past through requirements gathering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics is preferred, or equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of degree.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. 

 

This is a 12-month contract that may be extended or made permanent.
