Position Highlights

 

The Compensation Services team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compensation Analyst to provide a high level of customer service to your client groups through prompt and effective guidance with job-related and compensation issues. We are seeking a professional that has excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. You are an experienced business partner with proven influencing and persuasion skills.   

 

You will support ICBC managers, People & Culture Business Partners, as well as HR colleagues.  ICBC’s compensation environment includes both union and management compensation, a Collective Agreement, government legislation, corporate policies and strategic direction. 

 

Key Accountabilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

 

  • Leads or participates in the planning, implementation and communication of annual compensation processes including compensation structure design, salary administration, market pricing and general salary increase for union employees.
  • Conducts or participates in research on compensation practices and trends to analyze and identify issues or opportunities for compensation programs at ICBC.
  • Prepares and performs quantitative and qualitative analysis on bargaining proposals, compensation programs for government reporting and public disclosure.
  • Participates in compensation related projects and provides costing support as assigned.
  • Supports the business on all compensation matters, providing technical expertise and professional advice to managers and People & Culture Business Partners.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • University degree and/or recognized professional designation (CCP or CPHR), combined with 5–7 years of progressive human resources experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in job analysis, job evaluation, and compensation, within an organization with a diverse workforce and significant union presence.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and documenting unionized positions, including applying a point‑factor job evaluation methodology.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to support and defend compensation decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (e.g., data analysis, modeling, reporting).
  • Solid knowledge of compensation principles, theories, and best practices.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
