The Server Cloud Foundation team is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist - Virtualization and Storage Team Lead to lead our Virtualization and Storage team.
Our on-premise environment is heavily virtualized where we have established a Private Cloud and are actively expanding into Public Cloud. To support this transition, we will have a strong focus on adopting Infrastructure as Code (IaC). We are looking for a motivated individual eager to learn, tackle challenges and join us on this journey.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Senior Technical Specialist - Virtualization and Storage Team Lead, you will:
- Offer senior-level expertise in IT infrastructure systems, including architecture and design.
- Provide consultation services to both internal and external customers.
- Gather functional and non-functional requirements.
- Prepare specifications documents, perform tier 3 troubleshooting, and develop creative solutions for enterprise systems integration.
- Assist project and operational teams in enhancing and developing new infrastructure systems for commercial off-the-shelf products.
- Lead technical solutions and operational support for a team of junior to intermediate staff.
Position Requirements:
To qualify for the Senior Technical Specialist position, you must demonstrate experience in:
- Managing multiple parallel projects or tasks.
- Providing technical project leadership and mentoring team members.
- Technical consulting and planning.
- Collaborate across multiple levels of the organization, including colleagues, management, and staff, on cross-workgroup projects and operational support.
- Vendor liaison for support and service delivery.
- Effective organization, documentation, and planning skills to enhance team management and achieve departmental goals.
- Maintaining a positive customer service attitude to drive department service management objectives and represent the team positively within the organization.
- Superior verbal, written, technical writing, and presentation skills to communicate and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Experience and certification with hyperconverged systems and high-level knowledge of storage concepts, preferentially with Nutanix AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, and Nutanix Unified Storage platforms.
- Certification in any of the hyperscale cloud service providers, coupled with demonstrated enterprise experience working with cloud services.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell scripting and Terraform (or similar IaC tools).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and documenting technical specifications for complex systems integration for mid to large-sized IT infrastructure systems.
- Support the development of business cases and estimation of project budgets.
- Aid in project management tasks and the acquisition of IT solutions.
- Experience with ITIL processes such incident, problem, and change management, in an Enterprise environment.
- Enterprise experience with SDLC, GitOps, networking, Citrix, and Unix/Linux is considered an asset.

Work arrangements defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
