ICBC is seeking an Intermediate QA Analyst to join our Digital Customer Portal & Applications team and help ensure our customer-facing digital services are reliable, accessible and easy to use.
You will contribute to the quality of modern web and mobile experiences used by customers and partners, working closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, UX and content specialists throughout delivery.
This role is well suited to a QA professional experienced in testing large-scale digital applications who is ready to take ownership of test planning, quality risks and outcomes for the products and initiatives they support.

As an intermediate QA Analyst, you will be responsible for:

•    Develop test strategies and plans, coordinate testing activities, and report on quality status, risks and outcomes for Digital solutions spanning multiple technology platforms.
•    Validate end-to-end customer transactions across integrated systems and touchpoints, including expected business outcomes, system interactions and data flows.
•    Test customer-facing web experiences across supported browsers, devices and responsive breakpoints, identifying accessibility, compatibility and usability concerns.
•    Participate in user story refinement and acceptance criteria definition, helping teams document testable functional and non-functional requirements.
•    Create, maintain and execute automated tests to support regression coverage and continuous delivery.
•    Identify, document and help resolve defects, quality risks and production issues, including root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
•    Help maintain test automation standards, frameworks and test harnesses in accordance with Digital and ICBC guidelines.
•    Share testing practices and support knowledge transfer across the team.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: 
•    3 or more years of hands-on software quality assurance experience testing enterprise or large-scale customer-facing digital applications.
•    Experience developing and adapting risk-based test strategies and plans, defining acceptance criteria, maintaining traceability and reporting on quality outcomes in an enterprise environment.
•    Demonstrated ability to take shared ownership of defects by supporting triage, reproducing issues, gathering diagnostic evidence and contributing to root-cause analysis with developers and other delivery partners.
•    Experience planning and executing manual and automated functional, integration, regression, exploratory, end-to-end and user acceptance testing, including validation of accessibility, performance and reliability for large-scale, customer/public-facing digital solutions (web and/or mobile)
•    Hands-on experience with test management, defect tracking, API testing and automation tools such as Jira, Zephyr, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Postman.
•    Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C# or a similar language.
•    Experience with Git and GitHub, including GitHub Actions and workflows supporting CI/CD in cloud environments.
•    Familiarity with content management and search platforms such as Contentful and Elastic Search.
•    Experience conducting impact analysis and supporting production environments through incident, problem and change management.

The following technical qualifications would be considered an asset:
•    Experience with cloud, digital delivery and operational platforms such as AWS, Vercel, OpenShift, Cloudflare or F5.
•    Experience using observability and troubleshooting tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, FullStory or Google Analytics.
•    Experience testing authentication, identity management or secure customer self-service experiences.
•    Experience with Agile methodologies, the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 2 days per week at your primary office headquarters, subject to operational requirements. The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
