Position Highlights:

 

ICBC’s Project Services team has an interesting opportunity for a Project Manager II. As a Project Manager IIoverseeing projects, you will work as a key member of our team and be responsible for implementing a variety ofboth internally/externally sponsored initiatives at ICBC.

 

You are an accomplished Project Management professional with 2+ years of leadership experience leadingproject teams or the equivalent. You will have good knowledge of project delivery having successfully deliveredprojects/initiatives either from the implementation of IT projects or projects involving business change. You havebeen accountable for managing projects with budgets exceeding $500K. Experience with projects involvingbusiness process change and familiarity with managing remote teams is an added advantage. You will havenavigated complex stakeholder relationships and be able to work collaboratively across multiple functions withinthe organization.

 

The curiosity to learn and perseverance to overcome is a critical success factor in this role.

 

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for the delivery of technical & non-technical components required todeliver the envisioned business outcome - to the accepted quality, in timeframe required, within the approvedbudget.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advise your Executive/Business Sponsor on delivery approach & strategic project direction.
  • Ensure alignment across work streams, develops & leads a cohesive project team (ICBC employees,contractors, external vendors).
  • Provides day to day management of project activities.
  • Develops & recommend adjustments to project plan, resources, budget and execution to deliver business outcome.
  • Planning and managing the overall project(s) often involving systems implementation, software development,business change, people change management, training and communications.
  • Defining project scope and structure, and developing a project plan and budget.
  • Proactive identification and management of project risks, and timely resolution of project issues and problems.
  • Working within and supporting the project governance, standards and practices of ICBC’s project management office.

 

Position Requirements :

 

To make an immediate contribution in this role, you will bring solid knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated effective management of project teams working in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, business partnership, team building and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of technology with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Knowledge of financial and project accounting processes and principles.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, methodology, tools and techniques (direct experience withICBC project delivery methods is an asset).

 

Candidates will ideally have an undergraduate degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) along witha number of years of project management or related experience.

 

A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is mandatory .

 

This position will reside in North Vancouver or Victoria location .

 

 

Position Information:

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Resident – you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled work days.
  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. 
  • Hybrid 10 – you will work a minimum of 10 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. 
  • Mobile – you will work a significant amount of time in the field, in addition to working from an office and optionally working remotely within British Columbia.
