Position Highlights

 

ICBC’s People, Culture & Sustainability division has an opening for an Organizational Design Consultant. Reporting to the Manager, Compensation & Organizational Design, the Consultant will support the stand up of ICBC’s Organization Design Centre of Excellence (CoE).

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Job design support - collect job information and prepare supporting collateral required for job design and evaluation work, including updates to Job Profiles based on the ongoing competency work required for People Portal. Assist with interviews, research, and status updates for the ongoing work.

  • Job Architecture maintenance - update mappings, add/ remove jobs, obsolete/ un-obsolete jobs on system. Develop and update Job Profiles to ensure they reflect the current requirements and competencies.

  • Position Management - review position creation and change requests to ensure they comply with agreed controls and guidelines. Approve requests that meet criteria, send back requests that require more information or adjustments, and escalate complex cases, as needed.

  • Vendor coordination - convey changes to vendor, pull data/ reports/ other collateral from vendor.

  • Adhoc support - liaise with the compensation team to obtain up-to-date job profiles and ensure they are integrated into the job design process. Collect, organize, and maintain project files related to job design, evaluation, and position management. Create and maintain a centralized repository for Organizational Design (OD) documentation. Migrate documents from the T drive to Microsoft Teams or another centralized platform to ensure easy access and collaboration.

  • Support the team with conducting comprehensive research on best practices in organizational design, this includes analyzing industry trends, benchmarking against leading organizations, and synthesizing findings to inform and enhance the organization's design initiatives.

  • Perform regular audits to assess compliance with established organizational design standards.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.

  • Proven experience supporting organizational design initiatives, with job architecture, collecting information for job design and evaluation, either internal to HR or within a consulting context.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in job information, mappings, and documentation.

  • Communication: Effectively conveying changes and updates to stakeholders.

  • Organization: Maintaining organized files and a centralized repository for easy access.

  • Analytical Thinking: Evaluating job profiles, position requests, and system updates critically.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with the team to align expected deliverables and outcomes

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
