Opportunity: Manager, Talent Management

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Talent Development Programs team.

 

Position Overview: Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Talent Development Programs, the Manager, Talent Management will lead a team of highly skilled HR professionals to deliver programs that support talent management initiatives across ICBC. As a leading expert in the field, you will oversee planning, program development, implementation and measurement of critical talent programs that support employees and leaders across the organization, while acting as a trusted partner and subject matter expert. Additionally, the Manager, Talent Management will build collaborative partnerships with business leaders across the organization to improve our overall employee experience and support our employee value proposition.

 

Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Provides day-to-day leadership to the Talent Management team and offer career planning advice and create development plans to help team members reach their career goals while providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Identify and address organizational needs in succession planning, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Oversees and advance talent management efforts across various functional areas (e.g.: communications, learning, DEI, HR business partnering etc.) ensuring that appropriate, consistent and meaningful processes and policies are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvements in talent management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards for talent management planning.
  • Participate in budgeting for Talent Development Programs.

 

Are you the ideal candidate?

You have:

  • Experience leading teams consisting of experienced, highly skilled HR professionals.
  • Proven experience in the development and delivery of talent management programming.
  • Demonstrated understanding of talent management concepts, frameworks, and implementation requirements, including specializations under leadership development, succession and career management, and performance management.
  • The ability to balance multiple, competing priorities, be self-directed, make decisions and manage a team to meet challenging deadlines whilst maintaining a service mind set.
  • Constantly achieved results, demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver results.
  • Consistently choses the best course of action (from several alternatives) to address business problems and/or opportunities with a great deal of patience and strategic thinking.

 

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Behaviour, etc.). Master’s degree in a relevant discipline would be an asset.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of related, general talent management experience or the equivalent.
  • Minimum eight (8) cumulative years’ experience advising and supporting specifically, leadership development, performance management, and learning functions and initiatives within a large, complex environment.
  • Experience working within the insurance industry and with SAP (e.g. SuccessFactors) software is considered an asset.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
