Position Highlights:

 

ICBC has an exciting opportunity for an IT Security Manager to provide overall operational leadership of ICBC’s information technology security program.

This position is responsible for leading our security operations and security platforms team members, developing and providing execution leadership of our IT security roadmap, vulnerability management and incident handling. In alignment with corporate security strategies, policies and standards, you will be responsible for ensuring security standards, controls, strategies and best practices are incorporated and executed across our IT organization to meet the information and systems protection objectives for ICBC.

ICBC is looking for a team-oriented, security-focused manager that can lead the evolution and maturity of our IT security program and capabilities in a dynamic,hybrid cloud environment .

 

Your key focus and deliverables will include:

 

  • Overall leadership of the IT Security program in alignment with strategies, policies and standards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
  • Enhancing cyber security practices across ICBC through collaboration and influence.
  • Overseeing the reporting and analysis of information technology security operational effectiveness.
  • Driving the evolution of the IT Security program, developing the roadmap, plans, technologies, and processes ensuring they meet our current and future security and enterprise needs.
  • Leading our IT Security team members, providing support to enable team growth and development, and achieve service and solution delivery goals.
  • Leading IT security initiatives and projects while staying on budget, schedule and within scope.
  • Providing vendor and contract management of our IT security vendors and service providers.
  • Overseeing the provision of consultation and subject matter expertise to other IT and business stakeholders as it relates to IT Security.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the team including the units business plan and budget.
  • Raising and promoting new ideas, continuous improvements, and process optimization leveraging automation.

 

Position Requirements

 

Successful candidates will have:

 

  • Proven expertise and experience in IT Security principles and standards, process, systems and tools, and trends and best practices.
  • Define and implement security controls across multiple layers of the technology architecture stack to ensure robust protection and compliance.
  • Analyze and translate requirements from industry standards (e.g.,  ISO, NIST, OWASP, CIS, CCCS), organizational policies, regulatory frameworks, and threat/risk assessments into actionable strategies for enterprise security.
  • Support in designing hybrid security architecture, managing vulnerabilities and patching processes, enabling identity strategy, strengthening cloud security, and ensuring compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Experience in managing Cyber Security operations, monitoring, and capabilities both on-prem and in the cloud.
  • Experience with vendor and contract management.
  • Experience developing roadmaps, plans, technical standards for IT security services and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams with experience creating a collaborative and positive work environment, coaching and influencing team members, and building and maintaining strong and effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.

 

The successful candidate will have several years of experience in information security. Experience will be supported by professional designation or certification in the information security field such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent.

 

Position Information:

 

  • ICBC provides comprehensive and flexible benefit coverage to all eligible employees including a defined benefit pension plan.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Resident – you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled work days.
  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. 
  • Hybrid 10 – you will work a minimum of 10 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. 
  • Mobile – you will work a significant amount of time in the field, in addition to working from an office and optionally working remotely within British Columbia. 
  • Remote – you will work remotely from within British Columbia, with one required visit to your primary office per month.
