Position Highlights

 

The Total Rewards team is seeking an experienced Manager Compensation & Organizational Design (OD) to join the team. The Manager Compensation & OD will be responsible for leading the development, promotion, and execution of best practices related to compensation and organizational design, including the development of frameworks, methodologies, and implementation of plans. The Manager will lead a team of skilled professionals, including a manager.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides organizational advisory and consultative services to the business. Ensures all compensation and organizational design initiatives align with the organization and people strategy to deliver the desired business outcome.

  • Assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of compensation and organizational design service delivery, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. Optimizes departmental efficiencies through streamlining, re-engineering, and implements process improvement strategies.

  • Provides advice and guidance to the business on the implementation of a wide range of organizational solutions including organizational efficiency and organizational effectiveness, job analysis and design.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of compensation programs, salary administration policies, market pricing methodology, and job evaluation practices in support of corporate business objectives while in alignment with total compensation philosophy.

  • Responds to requirements in relation to government reporting, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and collective bargaining mandate submissions.

  • Provides support to the Compensation and Organizational Design teams to ensure quality standards are upheld, identifying opportunities for improvement as necessary.

 

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • A professional designation such as CCP, GRP, or a certification in organizational design is an asset.

  • Demonstrated success with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in compensation and organizational design, identifying gaps and providing advice on potential improvement opportunities for organizational efficiency. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading compensation and organizational design professional teams, in interaction with various partners including, subject matter experts in HR functions and senior leadership, executive level. 

  • Strong data analytical approach and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of leaders.

  • Effective decision-making, critical thinking and problem resolution skills.

  • Solid knowledge of employment laws, regulations and statues.

  • Experience in large and complex organizations, preferably within the public sector.

  • Knowledge of project management, business planning, process improvements, cost/benefit analysis.

  • Experience with SAP Success Factors is considered an asset.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
