ICBC has an interesting and challenging opportunity to work as an Infrastructure Platform Administrator II in the Network Platforms team. The successful candidate will be part of a small, fast-paced team that is responsible for implementation and ongoing operational maintenance of ICBC’s corporate network infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining network availability and stability while ensuring network security to protect ICBC systems and data on systems that include:
  • Cisco switches, routers, firewalls
  • Cisco wireless infrastructure and access points
  • Palo Alto next generation firewalls (NGFW)
  • Coordination of support, maintenance, and installations among technical support teams within ICBC as well as external vendors
  • Experience providing Tier-2 technical support to triage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network infrastructure issues
  • Ability to effectively implement, tune, and monitor a full suite of network monitoring tools
  • Maintenance of the network security posture/controls and compliance reporting
  • Effective use of an enterprise change management system, managing change controls to ensure work is properly scheduled and communicated

 

Successful candidates will have:

  • Extensive experience providing Tier-2 technical support in resoling complex network issues for customers under tight timelines
  • Clear communication skills to enable successful interactions with both end users and technical support teams
  • Flexibility to work occasional and planned overtime, including weekends, and the ability to travel to ICBC locations throughout the province.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting networks using tools such as a protocol analyzer, with a good understanding of TCP/IP and the 7-layer OSI model
  • Understanding of automation and API configuration of network devices (Ansible, Postman, Python, etc.)
  • Experience supporting a variety of connectivity methods including MPLS, SD-WAN, and IPSec/SSL VPN

 

Due to the specific nature of the work, a valid B.C. Driver’s license must be held.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
