Position Highlights

We are seeking a skilled and strategic HR professional with expertise in workforce planning, a strong grasp of HR business practices, and the ability to translate workforce data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will bring deep business acumen and a clear understanding of talent capability and capacity assessments to inform HR programs and best practices that support organizational goals.

 

As a key member of ICBC’s HR Workforce Planning Centre of Excellence (CoE), the HR Workforce Planning Specialist will collaborate closely with analytics teams, business advisors, and various HR functions including Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners. This role will contribute to both operational and long-term strategic workforce planning, helping to ensure ICBC has the right talent in place at the right time to deliver on its business strategy.

 

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Collaborate closely with HR teams and business leaders to integrate strategic workforce planning practices across the organization, ensuring alignment with the long-term business goals and short-term departmental priorities. 
  • Deliver strategic workforce planning services by analyzing workforce data, engaging business leaders through data-driven storytelling, and identifying current and future headcount and capability needs. Support the development of action plans, conduct gap analyses, and report intended outcomes to enable informed decision-making.
  • Proactively analyze and communicate workforce trends to inform strategic resourcing decisions and anticipate future opportunities and risks. Guide workforce planning discussions by analyzing trends, forecasting talent supply and demand, and identifying capability gaps to support current and future workforce needs.
  • Collaborate with HR teams and business leaders to design and develop workforce planning models and tools that enable efficient resource allocation. Leverage these solutions to support data-driven talent demand and supply planning.
  • Continuously enhance and innovate workforce planning frameworks, methodologies, and tools to align with evolving business priorities.
  • Conduct research on best practices and labour market trends to inform workforce decisions and support strategic decision-making.
  • Engage in cross-functional projects and contribute by providing expert guidance and workforce planning insights to support the achievement of key business outcomes.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
