The Finance Division, within the Financial Consulting & Advisory Services (FCAS) team, has an opening for a position of Financial Analysis Advisor. The FCAS team focuses on supporting the divisions of ICBC on planning and budgeting, forecasting and analysis, evaluation of strategic financial opportunities, conducting in depth financial reviews and assessments and reviewing business cases and providing financial assessment of realization of project benefits.

 

The successful candidate will provide financial advisory services and numeric analysis, identifying, analyzing and recommending opportunities in support of our strategic financial objectives, facilitating decision-making and ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies, procedures and governance. This may require preparation of briefing notes, divisional and regulatory reports.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Provides financial and numeric analysis and advice to leadership teams supporting the development, implementation and review of divisional plans and divisional financial performance results.
  • Provides financial advice to assigned divisions to develop performance measures and review performance results.
  • Applies financial governance principles and practices to financial analysis, research, risk mitigation, reporting, and recommendations.
  • Performs business case review including financial modeling and forecast different scenario’s to deal with each potential outcome.
  • Participates in projects as assigned.
  • Provides support to more complex assignments on data gathering, analysis and decision-making support at corporate level.
  • Provides recommendations on the continuous improvement of divisional financial requirements.
  • Supports corporate regulatory reporting process as required.

Position Requirements

  • Complementing your related work experience will be a relevant post-secondary education. A Chartered Professional Accountant designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of corporate, financial, project and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of the standards, practices and techniques of financial analysis and modeling and forecasting
  • Knowledge of business performance measurement and metrics
  • Knowledge of the relevant department, division or corporate business functions, products and services
  • Knowledge of the relevant computer systems, programs, and applications (SAP, Excel, Access)

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
