Position Highlights

 

ICBC’s Social and Digital Media team has an exciting permanent full time opportunity for an experienced Digital Communication Specialist. We are looking for a strategic, creative thinker with expert knowledge of the social media and digital marketing industry. You have led the development and execution of organic and paid social and digital campaigns, and have produced engaging, well-written content across all social and digital channels.

 

You are an enthusiastic professional with four years of content development and/or marketing experience with a focus on social and digital, ideally in a large, complex environment. 

 

You stay on top of the latest trends and social media best practices, and have been responsible for providing detailed analysis and reporting on social media campaigns and initiatives for internal clients and working groups.

 

  • Monitor media, social mentions, trends and influencer activity to identify and recommend social media tactics and approaches that align to the social media strategy and organizational goals
  • Participate in cross-functional work groups as the social media lead to advance organizational initiatives with strategic social media recommendations and content
  • Effectively utilize budget for social and digital campaign plans and media advertisements to reach campaign and organizational goals, including making budgetary recommendations-based requirements and scope.
  • Create content for social media channels from ideation, planning, content capture and delivery. This will include participating in video content on behalf of the organization.
  • Lead email communication planning and execution alongside the Manager, Social and Digital Media to effectively deliver email marketing to meet organizational goals
  • Create timely data driven reporting that provides actionable insights for social media campaigns
  • Support ICBC’s overall social media strategy, email strategy and YouTube strategy.
  • Coordinate and support content creation activities, including attending and assisting with on-site video shoots and media-related initiatives as required

 

The ideal candidate is dynamic and innovative, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

The following experience is also required:

 

  • 3-5 years of related experience in social media management, video and graphic content creation and campaign management, development and execution for social and digital platforms
  • Experience in writing for all media, with proven success in creating engaging and impactful social media and email content
  • Excellent content creation and video editing skills and experience in using Capcut, Edits, Premier Pro, Canva
  • Strong social media and email copy writing skills
  • Excellent grasp of the written language, including grammar, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines and produce quality work under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Ability to lead social media work independently
  • Great interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder management and relationship building with internal teams
  • Access to reliable transportation is required; a valid Class 5 driver’s licence is considered an asset
  • Ability to handle basic video/audio equipment and perform tasks requiring physical mobility
  • Understanding of social media platforms and social media audiences and how to engage audiences across different platforms
  • Understanding and experience working in communications or marketing for a similar large public sector organization
  • Experience using social media platforms and management tools including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, Sprout Social.
  • Ability to travel across the Lower Mainland to support video shoots and media-related activities, sometimes on short notice

 

The above requirements would typically be met through completion of post-secondary education in communications, marketing or digital content or social media.

Work arrangement defined: 

 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
