Position Highlights
We are in search of a skilled and thorough Corporate Security Operations & Investigations Specialist to become a valued member of our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the integrity and security of our organization's people, property and reputation. Your core responsibilities will be to investigate security incidents and to support and promote a safe and secure workplace.
This position demands meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to upholding a secure and efficient workplace environment. Reporting directly to the Corporate Security Manager, you will be a pivotal contributor to our security efforts.
General Accountabilities
We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience in dealing with a dynamic workload who is highly detailed and adaptable. Your flexibility to move between multiple priorities, ability to proactively problem-solve and a proven ability to coordinate and organize activities is best suited in a fast-paced environment. You are a proactive and solution-oriented individual with sound judgment who can anticipate needs and take independent action on a broad range of administrative tasks and projects.
You have the ability to identify and escalate issues and connect business needs in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Your collaborative nature has proven beneficial for your team when ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Specific Accountabilities
- Responds to security incidents and completes investigations by conducting in-depth interviews, preserving and collecting evidence, writing detailed reports, and testifying in court, in support of all corporate business areas
- Investigates and prepares reports for all criminal incidents against the corporations’ employees and physical assets. Provides investigative resources and advice to relevant departments as required.
- Provides support to law-enforcement agencies and the Crown Counsel in the investigation of and court proceedings for criminal incidents related to the corporation.
- Conducts risk and threat assessments, site security audits, and supports the other members of our team to mitigate workplace violence and loss to the corporation.
- Develops, implements, and conducts internal education, training, and awareness programs on corporate security.
- Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on security incident trends for internal stakeholders.
- Maintains effective communication with internal /external stakeholders by coordinating investigations and providing case documentation.
- Promotes Corporate Security concerns, priorities, and goals to corporate business areas, law enforcement agencies, and the general public.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Several years of related direct/indirect work experience in a continuous learning environment is typically required for someone to perform this job competently.
- Knowledge of the relevant acts and legislation, including those that govern the private security industry.
- Knowledge of investigative methods and practices.
- Proven track record of completing reports and large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote etc.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to thrive both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Knowledge of relevant corporate computer applications and databases.
- Strong teamwork, business, and service orientation competencies.
- Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered for this role.
- Must meet the provincially legislated requirements of the Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), PCI (Professional Certified Investigator), Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), CTAP designation as a Threat Assessment Professional and CPTED training or related designations are considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with compliance initiatives, and incident management.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System; the Criminal Code of Canada and relevant federal and provincial statues, acts and regulations relating to the investigation of property crime and crimes against persons.
- Knowledge of implementing crime prevention strategies, crime prevention through environmental design (CEPTED) and awareness programs.
- Knowledge of best practices and current trends in security technology.
- Keeps up-to-date and current on investigative methods, tools, systems, and technology.
- Proven track record in the security, security systems or risk management field.
- Proven track record in the investigation of property crime and crimes against persons.
- Knowledge of emerging security threats and best practices to mitigate them.
- Proven track record in driving security initiatives and implementing security controls.

Work arrangement defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
