The Data Management – Claims team is currently looking for Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our data team. In this role, you will act as the liaison between the business and our delivery teams in refining requirements, validating deliverables, and communicating rollout. In addition, the position may lead medium to large scale database and reporting projects.

Specifically, you will:
•    Document reporting capabilities and acceptance criteria based on business requirements;
•    Represent Information Management department in internal and external stakeholder sessions on ICBC Data.
•    Facilitate team scrums and retrospectives.
•    Be accountable for the maintenance of team Jira workflows and standards.
•    Work closely with the business stakeholders in understanding and prioritizing requests to for data reporting, table enhancements or data defects;
•    Provide subject matter expertise on data sources, reporting workflows, business process, and appropriate tools to analyze data.
•    Creating mapping documentation of data elements from source to target.
•    When required assist in report development.
•    Spearhead and facilitate cross-functional teams of any size;
•    Identify opportunities and implement processes to improve both speed of delivery and quality of deliverables;
•    Lead defect/incident resolution, as well as identify root cause of complex defects/incidents across portfolios and communicate resolution; 
•    Clearly articulate requirements, proactively collaborate with team, and facilitate development and testing activities to ensure the solution meets the business need;
•    Assist the team in providing operational support of production data pipelines.

Position Requirements:

This position will require someone who has 5+ years of hands-on experience in Business Systems Analysis or a combination of relevant post-secondary education and related experience. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
•    Advanced experience in identifying and understanding business needs, validating with key stakeholders and evaluating alternative solutions;
•    Advanced experience in Tableau report development and delivery.
•    Experience with AWS big data and analytical tools (AWS Glue, Glue Notebooks, Quicksights, Sagemaker, Athena)
•    Intermediate to Advance experience of writing SQL Queries.
•    Advanced experience in Jira, Confluence, and process mapping tool (e.g. Visio);
•    Advance experience in delivering projects and enhancements of varying sizes;
•    Demonstrate advanced knowledge of different requirement gathering techniques and hands on experience with UI and design principles, functional and non-functional requirements;
•    Experience conducting impact analysis in an enterprise environment;
•    Expert knowledge in Agile methodologies and experience as a scrum master/team lead;
•    Ability to translate technical terms and requirements for non-technical people;
•    Experience in facilitating/guiding large cross functional groups with demonstrated success in relationship building, conflict resolutions, consensus building, risk mitigation and in delivery of medium-to-large initiatives;
•    Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and requirements;
•    End-to-end knowledge of big data development lifecycles (e.g. mapping, build, testing, deployment);
•    Experience in supervising and mentoring cross-functional team members;
•    Exposure to Guidewire ClaimCenter is an asset.
•    Knowledge of Insurance Claims business process is an asset.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 2 days per week at your primary office headquarters, subject to operational requirements. The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
