The Digital team in The Information Services Division is responsible for the development and sustainment of customer and partner-facing solutions, with a focus on web and mobile app applications. This includes full stack development, managing customer facing digital solutions, maintaining efficient development pipelines, and providing foundational services that ensure reliability, scalability, and security.


As a Senior Business Systems Analyst within the Digital department, you will play a key role on the technical team responsible for delivering and sustaining the digital solutions relied upon daily by our customers and partners. Leveraging your expertise in stakeholder engagement, requirements engineering, and enterprise-grade web applications, you will lead the design and development of foundational services, while ensuring the ongoing support and enhancement of customer-facing digital platforms.


Your key focus and deliverables may include the following:

· Stakeholder management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, maintain clear communication, set realistic expectations, resolve conflicts, integrate feedback, and build strong relationships to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout ideation, prioritization and delivery.


· Requirements engineering: Work with multiple business stakeholders and designers to elicit, define, analyse and document requirements and acceptance criteria, including all necessary tasks such as running and facilitating elaboration workshops and design workshops.


· Project and operational delivery and sustainment: Deliver projects and operational enhancements using agile and other industry-standard methodology and frameworks. Lead defect and/or incident resolution including identify root cause of complex defects/incidents across the Digital portfolio and communicate resolution

· Technical Solution Design: Support the design and development of technical solutions including facilitating technical solution design workshops and planning ceremonies, documenting functional and technical solutions and coordinating efforts across multiple teams

· Team Collaboration: Run daily stand-ups for specific streams of work, collaborating with various development teams to ensure alignment and progress. Spearhead and facilitate cross-functional teams of any size. Lead and/or contribute to team process improvements and culture.

 

Position Requirements:


This position will require someone who has 5+ years of hands-on experience in Business Systems Analysis or a combination of relevant post-secondary education and related experience. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:


· Advanced experience in delivering enterprise-scale applications, including customer-facing web, mobile and responsive solutions, with at least some experience delivering in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments

· Advanced experience in identifying and understanding and documenting customer business needs in emerging and ambiguous subject areas. Advanced experience validating with key stakeholders and evaluating alternative solutions across multiple directions in an enterprise environment, understanding implications of regulatory requirements for security and audit as it pertains to technology solutions

· Advanced experience in Jira, Mural / Miro, Confluence, ITSM tools, process mapping tools (e.g. Visio)

· Experience performing and coordinating production support including incident, problem and change management

· Demonstrated advanced knowledge of different requirement gathering techniques and hands-on experience with UI and customer-centric design principles, functional and non-functional requirements

· Experience applying enterprise architecture, development standards, and security framework principles

· Expert knowledge in Agile methodologies and experience as a scrum master/team lead

· Ability to translate technical terms and requirements for non-technical people

· Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and requirements

· Experience in facilitating/guiding workshops and exploration meetings with large cross-functional groups, with demonstrated success in relationship building, conflict resolutions, consensus building, risk mitigation and in delivery of medium-to-large initiatives

· Knowledge of project management methodologies, including agile, waterfall, and scrum

· End-to-end knowledge of software development lifecycles (e.g. build and release management, migration methodology)

· Experience in supervising and mentoring cross-functional team members

 

The following qualifications would be considered an asset:

· Knowledge and understanding of interaction design practice, user research methodologies, etc

· Experience with best practices, standards, and patterns around storing and managing Customer Data in an enterprise environment

· Experience with customer notification (email, SMS, push notifications) practices and standards, including safeguards and methods to protect customer data security and privacy

· Experience in Dynatrace, Splunk, Google Analytics, Tag Manage, or similar technologies

· Exposure to Customer-facing digital services, Guidewire PolicyCenter, Guidewire ClaimCenter, Vercel and/or Contentful is an asset.

· Solid understanding of web analytics for online services (ex. Google Analytics)

· An industry recognized certification (CISSP, PMP, etc.) would be an asset.

Work arrangements defined: 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
