IS Claims Enhanced Care is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the delivery of Enhanced Care and Claims Sustainment releases for ICBC's Claims systems. In this role, you will perform business systems analysis, gather and document requirements, support solution design, participate in testing, and help ensure solutions meet business and operational needs.
The IS Claims Enhanced Care team is responsible for delivering Enhanced Care and Claims Sustainment releases, as well as providing production support and incident management for Claims applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Elicit, analyze, and translate business input into functional and non-functional requirements for Claims system changes.
• Participate in solution analysis for small-to-medium complexity system changes, including assessing interdependencies, operational impacts, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Support implementation and verification of system changes, including quality assurance, requirements traceability, and end-user testing support
• Plan, coordinate, execute, and sign off on testing for medium-complexity changes, working with senior analysts and delivery teams where required.
• Create and maintain clear operational documentation, functional specifications, support procedures, runbooks, and end-user documentation.
• Facilitate or participate in cross-functional meetings to understand business needs and align stakeholders with different objectives.
• Work closely with cross-functional Application Delivery teams and Product Owners to support Claims application projects.
Skills and Experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess business and technology impacts across systems.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements and develop clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of different requirement gathering techniques and basic understanding of UI and design
• Experience supporting production systems, incident analysis, operational troubleshooting, and post-implementation validation.
• Understanding software development lifecycle concepts, application architecture, testing practices, and automated testing concepts
• Experience with Claims systems, Guidewire ClaimCenter, ContactManager, Health Care provider integrations, batch processes, or legacy Claims applications would be an asset.
• Familiarity with operational support tools and processes such as HPSM, Splunk, ITSM incident/change processes, release coordination, monitoring, and access management would be beneficial.
• Ability to write clear documentation, support procedures, functional specifications, and training materials.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent tasks in an environment with changing deadlines and priorities.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to present recommendations to technical teams, business partners, and client groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Guidewire certification is preferred.
• Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, Guidewire Policy Center, or Guidewire production support would be an asset.
• Experience supporting projects using Agile methodologies.
• Experience supporting operational readiness, release validation, production incidents, or business verification testing would be an asset.
• Knowledge of Claims business processes, Claims integrations, or legacy Claims applications would be beneficial.

Work arrangements defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. Please note there are updates to the hybrid model, starting September. This role will be moving to 2 days per week in office.
