Position Highlights
We are seeking a Manager, Estimating Services. In this role, you will focus on mitigating claims risk by providing consistent, quality customer service while managing claims costs. As a Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of material damage staff, who are responsible for supporting our customers through the various claim processes.
You will be responsible for leading performance, developing talent, and ensuring your team delivers ICBC products and services effectively and efficiently. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day operation and performance of the units.
- Communicating corporate, divisional and unit plans, business objectives and operating goals to unit staff across multiple locations.
- Providing leadership and maintaining performance standards by monitoring productivity, quality of file handling, training support, and severity control.
- Implementing and monitoring unit business plan.
- Participating in the development of the unit budget.
- Monitoring expenses and reporting on variances in accordance with guidelines, ensuring unit targets and objectives are achieved.
- Identifying opportunities to improve controls, program standards and best practices.
- Reviewing and authorizing activities that exceed the scope of staff authority, and providing direct involvement in unusual or complex claims situations.
- Participating in projects, committees and task forces to support the implementation of corporate initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with vehicle repair facilities, industry associations, and other partners to promote the claims programs, support the negotiation of industry rates, and address related issues and complaints.
- Attending industry meetings to resolve concerns raised by representatives of the automotive repair industry.
- Monitoring material damage, repair quality and costs, identifying opportunities to improve controls, program standards and best practices
- Ensuring environmental requirements are implemented in accordance with the applicable Environmental Guidebook for the business activities for which they are responsible.
Position Requirements
- Knowledge of the theories, concepts and practices of vehicle repair (considered an asset).
- Knowledge of principles, standards and techniques of material damage estimating for vehicle insurance claims.
- Knowledge of the trends and developments in the automotive repair industry.
- Knowledge of the relevant department, division and corporate business functions, programs and services.
- Knowledge of the relevant acts, regulations, policies and procedures relating to material damage estimating.
- Must meet the provincially legislated requirements of the Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA).
- Several years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop front line staff.
The Manager, Estimating Services position requires travelling in all weather conditions to outlying communities within the region.

Work arrangements defined:
- Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
