ICBC’s Strategic Supply Management team provides leadership and expertise in supply chain management to ensure best value acquisitions for ICBC.

 

The team has procurement specialists who collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to manage procurement projects, contracts and vendors across a wide and diverse range of initiatives.

 

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead complex public procurement projects. If you enjoy building strong relationships, enabling business units to reach your goals, and championing innovation, let’s meet.

 

Position Requirements:

 

To make an immediate contribution in this exciting role, you will bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience leading competitive procurement processes (e.g. RFP) for large scale, complex sourcing initiatives in large organization(s) with multiples lines of business.
  • Strong analytical abilities, able to understand and refine business requirements, develop innovative procurement strategies, and draft solicitation documents.
  • Superior drafting skills to create clear, concise and comprehensive solicitation documents and approval documents (e.g. memos and briefing notes).
  • Exceptional communication skills to obtain buy-in and support for procurement strategies from internal customers, and influence outcomes by providing consulting and guidance at all levels and across business divisions.
  • Highly effective negotiation skills to obtain best value pricing and contract terms.
  • Success guiding cross-functional teams and stakeholders through the end-to-end procurement process from market research to contract execution.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage concurrent procurement projects effectively and to meet deadlines.
  • Relationship management expertise to build and maintain productive relationship with internal customers and external suppliers.

 

Your experience is supported by a post-secondary qualification and current knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management. Experience in public sector procurement and a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation are an asset, with experience in IT procurement being highly desirable.

Work arrangements defined: 

 

  • Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
